Boltcutter (Live @ Enmore Theatre) Lyrics

Killer wax, said the warden when she arrived on the scene first
Heartattack, like the poet that needed another word
When they find out about recent issues
Don't be surprised that there's no one listening
Boltcutter, to break those bolts and chains
You've suffered more than anyone could take
Another person came to take your place
Another boltcutter
K-Mart, Price Collapse, and all the panels were buried
Beneath the corner of the manchester and the computers section
Where I got kidnapped and scarred
Falling from Grace was a big decision
Cos you have placed in the competition ring
Boltcutter, to break those bolts and chains
You've suffered more than anyone could take
Another person came to take your place
Another boltcutter... hey!
When you're getting old, is it better? (X4)

Now you're getting old, is it better?
When you're getting old, is it better?
You made this the competition it was never meant to be
Because of opportunist students
And if there was a pride, it was within yourself
Follow that road to the oldest city
Give me that rope and I'll show you how to swing
Boltcutter, to break those bolts and chains
You've suffered more than anyone could take
Another person came to take your place
Another boltcutter, hey!

Grinspoon are an Australian post-grunge band (formerly alternative metal) from Lismore, Australia, formed in 1995 by Phil Jamieson (vocals), Pat Davern (guitar), Joe Hansen (bass), and Kristian Hopes (drums). They gained fame when they were Unearthed by national commercial-free radio station Triple J with their track Sickfest.

The band was heavily influenced by grunge and alternative metal music in their early career, and developed a strong following among mosh pit crowds. Their sound changed to a more mainstream rock sound with their 2004 release Thrills, Kills & Sunday Pills, which caused them to lose many of their earlier fans while at the same time gaining a lot of new ones.
