Born a Penny Lyrics

You whispered me the secret to success
But words mean nothing- money even less
In the end who can judge if you win or you fail?
My body may be weary, but my soul it ain't for sale[chorus]
I was born a penny
I ain't gonna be no dime
Trying to change me is just wasting your time
I'm holding on to this simple life of mine
I was born a penny
And I ain't gonna be no dimeI admit- I don't always have control
Of the ghost in my head and the spirits in my soul
But when I see that looking-glass sitting on the shelf
It looks just fine to me and I wouldn't be nobody else[chorus]I know a penny ain't a lot
But all I need I got
I was born a penny
And I ain't gonna be no dimeSo hold that tiara
'Cause I don't need to be queen
Locked up in some castle never was my dream

The fairytale you wrote wasn't all that fair
I'd rather ride the highway with the wind blowing through my hair[chorus x2]
I was born a penny
And I ain't gonna be no dime

Enjoy the lyrics !!!
