Broken City Lyrics

My city sleeps by the side of a freeway
The city scraps
And winter time she wore a yellow coat
Now there's nothin' on her backIf a building falls you wouldn't care to notice
Unless you were in it
Then no one cares about climbin' stairs
Nothin' at the top no moreOutside trippin' in the broken city
Outside trippin' in the broken city
I watch a millionaire crackOutside trippin' in the broken city
Outside kickin' in the broken city
There's nothin' wrong with thatNow the snow falls down like it's fallin' on an ocean
Dead and empty by the railroad tracks
Where they used to go and come
Now they don't come backYou can kill the rust, goin' up the through ways
Down the alleys
Where they stole this town from the frontier
I can see 'em tryin' to steal it backOutside trippin' in the broken city
(Outside trippin' in the broken city)

Outside trippin' in the broken city
I watch a millionaire crackOutside kickin' in the broken city
(Outside trippin' in the broken city)
Outside trippin' in the broken city
Nothin' wrong with thatNow the sun won't shine
On this part of the map anymore
When it's cold outside
I see it hide behind the smokestacksNo thin roses, no goldrush
No miner, no revolution they'd hire
And the shipyard is a graveyard
No one will be trying to find himOutside trippin' in the broken city
(Outside trippin' in the broken city)
Outside kickin' in the broken city
I watch a millionaire crackOutside trippin' in the broken city
(Outside trippin' in the broken city)
Outside kickin' in the broken city
There's nothin' wrong with thatNothin' wrong with that
Outside trippin' in the broken city, yeah
Hey, outside trippin' in the broken city
Hey, outside trippin' in the broken city
Outside, outside, outside, outside, outside, outside, outside

Audioslave was an American hard rock supergroup that formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2001. It consisted of Soundgarden frontman and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell and the former instrumentalists of Rage Against the Machine: Tom Morello (lead guitar), Tim Commerford (bass and backing vocals) and Brad Wilk (drums).

Audioslave released three successful albums, received three Grammy nominations, sold more than eight million records worldwide, and became the first American rock band to perform an open-air concert in Cuba. Cornell issued a statement in February 2007 that he was permanently leaving the band "due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences." As the other three members were busy with the Rage Against the Machine reunion, and Morello and Cornell had each released solo albums in 2007, Audioslave was officially disbanded.
