Buried Lyrics

I've been lookin' for answers
To set you free
Black are the reasons
You gave to meNever, never look back
Just move, move ahead
You were lucky, friend
You could be deadIgnore the future
Or bury your head in the sand
It's a two bit fantasy
That the man in your head demands
You can say it with a vengeance
You'll be back from the graveTime waits for no one
This has to be true
Mine ran out a long time ago
There's nothing, nothing you can doNever, never look back
Just move, move ahead
You were lucky, friend
You could be deadNow you're living with a burden

That rests upon your mind
You were lyin' to yourself
'Cause you were afraid of what you'd find
You can say it with a vengeance
You'll be back from the graveWe'll be waiting a long, long time
Before you're ever savedDrifting so far away
Things seem so strange
Thought you could escape
Believed things would changeNever, never look back
Just move, move ahead
You were lucky, friend
You could be deadIgnore the future
Or bury your head in the sand
It's a two bit fantasy
That the man in your head demands
Now you're living with a burden
That rests upon your mind
You were lying to yourself
'Cause you were afraid of what you'd find
You can say it with a vengeance
You'll be back from the grave

Founded by three teenagers in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982, Corrosion of Conformity began as an hardcore / punk band and went on to transform heavy music, challenging boundaries and serving as what Decibel Magazine called “a crucial stylistic lynchpin in the bridge between metal and punk” that “irrevocably reshaped crossover’s sonic possibilities.” Thirty years and many changes later, COC’s original trio is back with a self-titled release for London-based independent Candlelight Records.
