Burning Bridges (Re-Recorded In Stereo) Lyrics

Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them byThey all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing thereAll the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermoreJoey tried to help me find a job
A while ago
When I finally got it I didn't want to go
The party Mary gave for me
When I just walked away
Now there's nothing left for me to sayAll the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermoreYears have passed and I keep thinking

What a fool I've been
I look back into the past and
Think of way back then
I know that I lost everything I thought I that could win
I guess I should have listened to my friendsAll the burning bridges that have fallen after me
All the lonely feelings and the burning memories
Everyone I left behind each time I closed the door
Burning bridges lost forevermoreBurning bridges lost forevermore

Starting as a student at Grant High School in California's San Fernando Valley in the late 1950s, Curb began performing with his own bands and formed a vocal group, the Mike Curb Congregation. In later years, the group achieved worldwide success with many albums including "Burning Bridges," "Put Your Hand in the Hand," and "Softly Whispering I Love You." The Congregation also was seen on national television every week on the Glen Campbell variety show on CBS, and recorded No. 1 hit records including "The Candy Man" with Sammy Davis Jr. and "All for the Love of Sunshine" with Hank Williams Jr., the singer's first No. 1 single, which also was co-written by Curb.
