Burning Down the House Lyrics

Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool baby, you're strange but not a strangerI'm an ordinary girl
And I'm burnin' down the houseHold tight, wait till this party's over
Hold tight, well we're gonna be in for some nasty weatherThere has got to be a way
And we're burnin' down the houseHere's your ticket, pack your bags
It's time for jumpin' overboard
Transportation is hereClose enough but I'm not too far
Bet you're wonderin' where you are
Fight fire with fire of loveBurnin' down the houseAll wet, and you might need a raincoat
Shake down, my dreams are walkin' in broad daylightThree hundred sixty-five degrees
And we're burnin' down the house, hahMy house, out of the ordinary
That's right, I don't wanna really hurt nobodySome things sure sweep me off my feet
And we're burnin' down the house

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
