Cab Driver Lyrics

Cab Driver
The Mills Brothers
Cab driver drive by Mary's place
I just want a chance to see her face
Don't stop the meter any way
Cab driver drive by Mary's placeCab driver once more 'round the block
never mind the ticking of the clock
I only wish we could have heard her talk
Cab driver once more 'round the blockCab driver once more down her street
Theres a little place we used to meet
that's where I laid my future at her feet
cab driver once more down her streetCab driver wait here by her door
I just want to hold her in my arms once more
then things maybe just like they were before
cab driver wait here by her door

The Mills Brothers, sometimes billed as The Four Mills Brothers, were a U.S. jazz and pop vocal quartet. The group was originally composed of four brothers all born in Piqua, Ohio: John Jr (1911-1936) basso and guitarist, Herbert (1912-1989) tenor, Harry (1913-1982) baritone, and Donald (1915-1999) lead tenor. Their father owned a barber's shop, and founded a barbershop quartet called the Four Kings of Harmony.
