Cakewalk into Town Lyrics

I had the blues, so bad one time
It put my face in a permanent frown
Now, I'm feelin' so much better
I could cakewalk in the townI woke up this mornin' feelin' so good
You know, I lay back down again
Throw your big leg over me mama
I might not feel this good againMy baby, oh, my baby
I love the way she walk
When the girl gets sleepy
I love the way she baby talkMy work don't got scarce, honey
Oh [Incomprehensible] it no got hard
I spend my whole day stealin' chickens
Mama from the rich folks yardI got the blues so bad one time
It put my face in a permanent frown
You know, I'm feelin' so much better
I could cakewalk into townI want to go on a picnic
In the country mama oh, and stay all day
I don't care but don't do nothing

Just while my time awayI got the blues, so bad one time
It put my face in a permanent frown
You know, I'm feelin' so much better
I could cakewalk into town

Taj Mahal (born Henry Saint Clair Fredericks in New York City on May 17, 1942) is an American Grammy Award-winning blues musician who incorporates elements of world music into his music. A self-taught singer-songwriter and film composer who plays the guitar, banjo and harmonica (among many other instruments), Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music over the course of his 50 year career by fusing it with non-traditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa and the South Pacific.
