California Lyrics

And there are are beautiful lands out there, and there are are terrible bands out there.
And if you don’t shake some hands out there.
I guess I guess you’ll never know.
And there better be sun when it’s sunny, and it better be fun when it’s funny.
And if you don’t make some money.
I guess I guess you’ll never know.
And you’ll see lots of new people. Lots of new people. Yes I know. I know you will.
And you’ll see lots of new places. Lot’s of new faces. Yes I know. I know you will.
And If by chance you didn’t find the answers that are on your mind…
And if you’re off to California. Far from where you were born ya. A promised land for many before ya.
I guess I guess you’d better go.
And you’ll see lots of new people. Lots of new people. Yes I know. I know you will.
And you’ll see lots of new places. Lot’s of new faces. Yes I know. I know you will.
And If by chance you didn’t find the answers that are on your mind…

And If by chance you didn’t find the answers that are on your mind
And if by chance you didn’t see that it relies in you and me
Go home. Go home. Go home. Home.

Dubbed, “Chew it up, Spit it out, Rock and Roll”, Cheers Elephant is a tight, rootsy,
psychedelic poprock quartet from Philadelphia, PA… now located in SoCal. Digging deep
into three part harmonies and pop song arrangements, Cheers has a sound that’ll make
your dad’s toe tap, your mom’s hip shake, and your sister’s heart throb.

In 2012 Cheers Elephant released their 3rd album Like Wind Blows Fire, which was the
most successful record to date. Their track ‘Leaves’ hit #4 on Hype Machine and featured
on We Are Hunted, NPR, Ex.FM, Good Music All Day, and Spotify. Cheers has shared the
stage with acts like Mayer Hawthorne, Rubblebucket, The Go! Team, The Walkmen,
Darwin Deez, Jefferson Starship, The Mother Hips, and more. So, why not take a sip of
Cheers Elephant? The buzz is good.

“Sound City Players did 3-plus hours, but my favorite SXSW set came from Philly’s Cheers
Elephant: great, hooky indie-pop.”
- Eric Danton, Rolling Stone / WSJ Music

“Dubbing themselves as the dudes with the best indie rock haircuts, [Cheers
Elephant] blend playful humor, energy, and some really great three-part harmonies.”
- NPR

“Their harmonies are reminiscent of The Beatles and they carry a lighthearted energy
similar to the goofy They Might Be Giants, a combination that makes them easy to love
and hard to ignore.”
