Call It What You Want Lyrics

I'm in love with a lady and I know
The lady's in love with me
And she knows that I'll always be there
That's why she's willin' and readyBut now and then, every once in a while
Something inside of me, maybe inside of her
Have you ever had one of those days
When it all is goin' wrong? And it just can't seem to get along
But through it all you know you're gonna make itCall it true love, call it not meant to be
You can call it anything at all, you see
Call it what you want
It's all the same to meMusic means a lot to me
Like love, I make it when I can
All I am is all I'll ever be
And that's just a boy from TexarkanaBut now and then, oh, but once in a while
They start treatin' me like some kind of superstar
Need I mention at the end of the day
What matters most of allIt's not where you're at or where you're comin' from
When all is said and done, you can call itHeavy metal, hard-core, punk, pop or thrash

You can call it anything, it don't matter to me
Call it what you want
It's all music to meCall it communism, call it free
Some call the ocean, what some call the sea
Call it what you want
It doesn't change a thing for me, not a thingBaby's lyin' in a cradle
Universe is all within its reach
Wearin' rags or mink and sable
Needs a guidin' hand or it's out on the streetNow, momma's out, she's never at home
Daddy's takin' care of business, he's out on the road
It's rainin' cats and dogs
But the child within us all must face the stormCall it individuality
Some call it fate, others reality
Call it what you want
It doesn't matter to meCall it communism, call it free
Some call the ocean, what some call the sea
Call it what you want
It doesn't change a thing for me, not a thing

Tesla is an American hard rock band originating from Sacramento, California. The band formed in 1984 as City Kidd and was renamed to Tesla during the recording of their first album on the advice of their manager. According to the Love Song Songfacts, their name comes from Nikola Tesla, the legendary scientist and inventor who quite possibly is single-handedly responsible for the "mad scientist" trope. Originally, the group included Jeff Keith (vocals), Frank Hannon (guitar), Tommy Skeoch (guitar), Brian Wheat (bass) and Troy Luccketta (drums). In 2006 Skeoch was replaced by Dave Rude, who is now an official member of the band.

Tesla's music fit well with the blasting sound of the 80s glam bands, but was more bluesy and lyrics dealt with other themes than just the usual, girls, alcohol and violence. But what set them even more apart from their contemporaries was their T-shirt and jeans image which was in strong contrast for that time, characteristic of leather pants and flashy-make up.

The group released 6 albums with original music, latest of them entitled "Forever More" (2008) as well as a double-disc covers album "Real To Reel" and a number of compilations and live albums.

Tesla's popular 1990 remake of Signs, originally recorded by the Five Man Electrical Band (who also inspired the album which the remake came from, Five Man Acoustical Jam), is probably the most mainstream of Tesla's hits. However, many fans remember fondly Tesla's other hits such as Gettin' Better, Modern Day Cowboy, Little Suzi, Edison's Medicine and Love Song.

The band derived their name, certain album and song names (e.g. The Great Radio Controversy, Mechanical Resonance, etc), and some song content from events relating to Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American inventor and electrical engineer born in the 19th century in Smiljan, Austria-Hungary, modern day Croatia.
