Call from the Grave Lyrics

God of Heaven
Hear my cries of anguish
I'm in painI've suffered a thousand deaths
But I live on in vainDeath would greet with eternal sleep
My soul would come to peaceMy life had ceased
The time was comed
Can no one hear my pleas?Lowered down in the moisty ground
Into the dark and coldMy heart's beat the only sound
Pain tears my limbs and soulI scream for mercy
Hear my cries
Oh, Lord don't abandon meI'm so tired
Grant me the eternal sleepI tear at the lid
I suffer
In a cold and nameless graveIf Hell is what awaits me
I feel no frightBuried and forgotten
In a cold and nameless graveIf there's a God in Heaven
Hear my call from the graveTear the lid I suffer
In a cold and nameless graveIf Hell is what awaits me

I feel no frightBuried and forgotten
In a cold and nameless graveIf there's a God in Heaven
Hear my call from the grave

Bathory was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Vällingby in 1983 and named after the infamous Hungarian countess, Elizabeth Báthory. The band's frontman and main songwriter was Quorthon (Thomas Forsberg). Bathory's first four albums were "the blueprint for Scandinavian black metal". The band departed from this style on their fifth album, Hammerheart (1990), which is often cited as the first Viking metal album. Bathory continued in the Viking metal style throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, although the band returned to thrash metal with the albums Requiem (1994) and Octagon (1995).
