Camera Lyrics

It's a mystery night
Like a sawed-off shot gun
In the morning light it comes to anyone
All the strings that follow you
And the things they're tied to
My love's behind you colored by the snow
The shine is goneI used to know what made you wet
Now I'm searching for it
'Cause it's a mystery all the same
Not to get you backOn holiday
With a broken camera
And all I say
Is "I could be happier"
I could be happierIt's a mystery night
And I thought we had fun
But in the morning light
Your cars already gone
Do the things I wanna do

Not the ones I'm supposed to
Why can't I get close to
The man I saw in me
When I was youngOn holiday
With a broken camera
And all I say
Is "I could be happier"
And all I say
Is "I could be happier"Higher up away
I'm free of all the shadows that follow me
Of all the branches up to break
With all my faith
Destiny and fate
'Cause I never wanna go there tonight
The cameras, the camera
I never wanna open my eyes
The cameras, the camerasYour cameras, your camera'Cause I never wanna go there tonight
I never wanna open up my eyes

Young the Giant is an alternative rock band which formed in Irvine, California, United States in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band's name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a "leftfield idea" meant to evoke curiosity.

The band released their debut self-titled album, Young the Giant, on 25 January 2011, which was preceded by a digital-only release in October 2010. The first single, "My Body," reached #5 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and a second single, "Cough Syrup," reached #3 on the same chart.

Previously, the band was known as The Jakes. They released a 7 song EP, Shake My Hand, in 2008, which including two songs ("Garands" and "Cough Syrup") now on the current self-titled album Young the Giant.
