Can't Complain Lyrics

I made her smile, I made her cry
Cleared her head and made her wonder why
I helped her live then made her want to die
But she can't complain, she can't complainShe tried to date a friend of mine
I was at his house when she came to say goodbye
He stood her up but she took it as a sign
And I can't complain, I can't complainWe took off for the weekend, had quite a time
Shared everything we'd ever tried
I told her, I could love her, told her I could lie
So she can't complain, she can't complainShe didn't care if she saw me in her life
I left it up for her to decide
She couldn't see the end but neither could I
So I can't complain, I guess, I can't complainShe moved here and bought the first house she could find
I moved in and we locked ourselves inside
I guess, we just kidnapped each other's minds
So we can't complain, we can't complainI cheated on her with a friend of mine
There are no days when we don't fight
But remember, I warned her and I'm a guy

So she can't complain, no she can't complainShe knows she can't complain, she can't complain
She can't complainNo, she can't complain, she can't complain
She can't complain, she can't complain
No, no, she can't complain, she can't complain
She can't complain, she can't complain
She can't complain

Nickel Creek was an American progressive acoustic music trio consisting of Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (fiddle) and Sean Watkins (guitar). The band was founded in 1989 and released six albums between 1993 and 2006, winning a 2003 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. Nickel Creek disbanded in 2007. The two families, the Watkinses and the Thiles, met after Sean Watkins and Chris Thile had mandolin lessons with the same music instructor, John Moore. Sara Watkins studied with Moore's bandmate, Dennis Caplinger.
