Can't Face Up Lyrics

Turn around
You can't face up to me
I stand my ground
I'm just what I seem to beAnd why the world
Would give me a second lookExcept I'm up here
And you're down there
But you'll never know what it took
You don't care what it tookThe look in your eyes
As I turned on the light
The look in your eyes
A look of surpriseSneakin' around
In this one trick town
And you can't face up to meI know your crowd
And they're not that proud
At least not from what I've seenFlies in the ink leave
Footprints across the seaTrace them back to where it all gets had
You find the cuts never run too deep
The cuts never run too deepHow many times have I tried

Just to get away from you
And you reel me back
How many times have I lied
That there's nothing that I can do
No, noAnd how many times have I tried
Just to get away from you
And you reel me back
How many times have I lied
That there's nothing that I can doI stand my ground
I'm just what I seem to be
It's run me down
For so long, for so longThe weight that I carry
Knowing what they've done to usHow many names does it take to lay blame
On the people you always should trust
The people you always should trustThe look in your eyes
As I turned on the light
The look in your eyes
The look of surpriseHow many times have I tried
Just to get away from you
And you reel me back
How many times have I lied
That there's nothing that I can do
No, noAnd how many times have I tried
Just to get away from you
And you reel me back
How many times have I lied
That there's nothing that I can do'Cause I can't face up to you
