Can't Stop Lyrics

There's a place I try to go, so far from here
I close my eyes, I try to, to disappear
I look around in my own way
But what I see I never, never really knowI wander 'round until I feel it coming on
And then it's, it's time to go
I don't want to be here falling out of place
Confusion's the consensus, fighting for my spaceAnd then you make me open my eyes and come back
All I wanted was some time, some time to think, that's all I needed
I would have been okay with just a little time
My time not your time, you never have timeI want to know I tried
You're probably here right now waiting
Waiting for that moment to ambush me
Swallow my hopes, crush my confidence
Pound me down, pound me down lower than you ever have beforeJust see if you grab my heart and rip it out
And then you chew on and spit it out
Throw it over the ground and stomp all over it
Laughing, laughing hysterically, tellin' me to do somethingKnowing that I won't, knowing that I can't
Knowing that you're me and I'm you

And I can never hate you as much as you hate me
Knowing the weaker I get, the stronger you are
Knowing how weak I am, knowing how strong you areCan't stop the running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me
Now you got them running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in meI lived it, I live it, it's not easy to say
I felt it, I feel it, it's just another day
It scares me, why does it dare me?
You know it ain't a fair fight
Rain overtakes me, it tries to break me
You know that something ain't rightNow you got 'em running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me
Now you got 'em running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me, set my body freeThey don't make no seatbelt for the mind
So I can't fasten up for this rideRunning away, can't stop the runaway emotions
Not right, can't fight, can't stop the runaway emotions
Fighting, hiding, can't stop the runaway emotions
Hypnotized, paralyzed, can't stop the runaway emotionsI was scared, I am scared
I know that but I'm not afraid doing at it
She being scared that don't bother me
It's just a feeling, I can do with thatI know what it is, that's what I don't know
What I can't feel that's what bothers me
That's what really scares me
See right now I'm scared, really scared
'Cause I can feel it, emotionally paralyzed, light headedLike you know when you got a pass out, actually I wish I would
You know kind of like when you gotta sneeze, the relief it brings
Just waiting, waiting for something to happen
Waiting for that moment to renew a [Incomprehensible]
See the moment takes you nowhereKnow what's realm, right now, no one's with you, right?
Know what, it's what you bring to me
Know it's like an itch that I can't scratch, like an itch in the brain
Knowing your body figure out a way to scratch it, just itches moreCan't stop the running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me
Now you got them running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in meI hate it, I hate me, like my consistency
I've seen it, I see it, I'm talking literally
So much lying, too much denying
It's time to face the facts
You can't help me, these cards will deal me
They are the final actsNow you got 'em running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me
Now you got 'em running, can't stop the running
The runaway emotions in me, set my body freeOh no, you really done it this timeCan't stop the runaway emotions
Can't stop the runaway emotions
Can't stop the runaway emotions
Can't stop the runaway emotionsThere's a place I try to go, so far from here
I close my eyes but I can't, can't disappear

Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1982 in Venice, California. Sometimes regarded as the progenitors of skate punk, they later incorporated significant heavy metal and thrash elements. The group, led by Mike Muir ("Cyco Miko"), had a rough start that included being voted "Worst Band/Biggest Assholes" in Flipside in 1982. Using the opposition to fuel creativity, they quickly gained a following, performing larger and larger gigs. As the size grew, so did the rumors of gang relations and violence (eventually leading to a Los Angeles ban on public performances by Suicidal Tendencies). The band signed with the indie label Frontier Records and issued their classic self-titled debut in 1983. The album was the best-selling hardcore album up to that point. It included many memorable songs. The video for Institutionalized was one of the first hardcore punk videos to receive substantial airplay on MTV. It was also used in the Emilio Estevez cult classic movie Repo Man and an episode for the hit TV show Miami Vice (which included a cameo appearance by the group). Recently the track has been used in the blockbuster movie Iron Man. Their song Possessed to Skate solidified their status as a premier skate punk band. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow has become one of the band's most acclaimed songs. After lineup changes and side projects, including the Infectious Grooves, they have continued to release albums and (as of 2004) are working on a new album and a Live-DVD to be titled "Return to Venice."
Former Bass player Robert Trujillo currently plays for Metallica and former guitar player Rocky George joined Fishbone.
