sAs (aka Steve Sciallo) composes music that has a sonic quality quite unlike other ambient or "background music". Using commercially available loops and samples (as well as his own creative MIDI input), sAs filters everything through his imaginative approach to song structure and musical interpretation. About sAs
A native Californian, sAs became interested in music at an early age and taught himself to play his grandmother’s piano by ear. This early musical experience is reflected on his new album, Future Memory. On it, one can hear the minimalistic chilliness, mysterious motifs and dreamy arrangements that echo sAs’ eclectic approach to musical composition.

“I wanted to create electronic music that was highly accessible and imaginative without being cliché," sAs says from his studio in Thousand Oaks, CA. "I decided to use sounds that would be familiar to most listeners but that were arranged and produced in novel and unexpected ways."

sAs continues, "The whole process of composing, producing, distributing and marketing Future Memory as an indie composer has been really cool.
