Carry Me Home Lyrics

He's gonna get you in the end
Then he'll be your only friend
There's nothing that'll save your soul
All you need is alcoholStep right up and be a man
On your knees and pray
Freedoms just another
Open bottle anywaySo one more round is all I need
Fill it up and let me be
It's getting late I should've known
Won't somebody carry me home?Pick me up from my knees
Carry me home, carry me home
Pick me up from my knees
Carry me homeWe think you should know, it's time to go
No more to show, yes it's time to go6 a.m. it's closing time
The barman turns the lights out
I want another round
So bring it on it's my shoutDon't leave me sitting here
Don't take me for a ride

Freedoms just another drink
Don't leave me hangin' dryStep right up and be a man
On your knees and pray
Freedoms just another
Open bottle anywayPick me up from my knees
Carry me home, carry me home
Pick me up from my knees
Carry me homeWe think you should know, it's time to go
No more to show, yes it's time to go

The Living End formed in 1994 after lead singer/guitarist Chris Cheney and bassist Scott Owen were introduced to each other by their older sisters at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Melbourne, Australia. Cheney, obsessed with 80s rockabilly group the Stray Cats, convinced Owen to learn the double bass instead of the piano and they started playing gigs under the name Runaway Boys after the title of a Stray Cats song. The group went through a succession of drummers before settling on Joe Piripitzi.
