Since 1995, Japanese artist Riow Arai has been keeping himself busy cutting up obscure samples, twisting them into his own peculiar vision of electronic groove. Described as anywhere from dark ambient to instrumental hip hop, Riow Arai's mixing and editing takes his listeners on an often unpredictable journey through the world of sound. Despite having remixed songs from and collaborated with countless artists, and having toured worldwide with groups such as Four Tet, his experimental use of sampling and broken beats has always kept him on the fringe of popular music circles.
