Champagne Cowboy Blues (1999 Remastered Version) Lyrics

Champagne, Getting high again,
Makes me think of you,
Sunshine and this crazy wine,
There is loving too,I don't care how or why.
One thing that I think I've learned,
Loving must be free,
So much energy is burned in pointless jealousy,I just want to sing for you,
Yes I do.
Champagne, Getting high again,
Makes me think of you,Sunshine and this crazy wine,
There is loving too, somewhere,
I don't care how or why.
As long as I'm high, champagne, yeah.

Kevin Ayers was a British songwriter, musician from Kent, United Kingdom, who was one of a group of avant garde musicians who came together in Canterbury in the 1960's and developed a whole new approach to the psychedelic, progressive rock genre, known as the canterbury scene. His early work included works with artists like Daevid Allen, David Bedford and Mike Ratledge. Since then Kevin Ayers wrote and recorded some of the wittiest and most poignant songs imaginable and produced more banana related lyrics than anyone ever dreamed possible.
