Champagne Promise Lyrics

Looking you
You don't play fair
Not a word, Just standing there
You always know what dress to wear
And how to take it offSeeking glass and candlelight
In the moment feels so right
You whisper that you want to stay the night
I just left becauseYou ain't nothing but a champagne promise
All the signs are saying I should be more cautious
You keep coming closer and the rain no stopping
No I can't never slow you down
And girl I know what you really want
Before you get to go and let me tell you something
You ain't nothing but a champagne promise And baby you are the finest aroundSweet leaps and pretty lies
Say you love me one more time
She'll be gone before you say goodbye
Cause you never doYou ain't nothing but a champagne promise
All the signs are saying I should be more cautious

You keep coming closer and the rain no stopping
No I can't never slow you downGirl I know what you really want
before you get to go and let me tell you something
You ain't nothing but a champagne promise and baby you are the finest aroundOh you are like a bluff
A temporary rush
You are like a thought of us
You ain't nothing but a champagne promise
All the signs are saying I should be more cautious
You keep coming closer and the rain no stopping
I can't never slow you downGirl I know what you really want
Before you get to go and let me tell you something
You ain't nothing but a champagne promise and baby you are the finest around

Growing up in a small southeastern Missouri town, David Nail might’ve chosen to follow any of the dreams that drifted by like the riverboats on the mighty Mississippi: but in the end, it was music that called his name. “I was definitely more into sports growing up,” says the Midwest native, “I think I was expected to play in college, but as I grew older I became more interested in music. After my senior year, I had a few small college offers to play baseball.
