Chandelier Lake Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
There's a yellow tree that no one sees
Where the water meets the land
The grass grows tall and the shadows fall
The blades cast a ghostly danceThe banks are stained with blood and rain
Where the water meets the land
A secret there they'll never share
A code of silenceAnd you would never see what's been hiding
Where the water meets the land
Until a careful wind begins to lift
Each grain of dust and sandChandelier lake is a mysterious place

And the ghost of the woman who sleeps beneath the waves
Chandelier lake is a mysterious place
And she's the only one who knows its nameA little fox gone wandering
Where the water meets the land
Tired, lost and hungry
She sees diamonds against the plantsSo she sat down by what she's found
Where the water meets the land
And there exposed was clothes are bones
And a ring on a lifeless handAnd the trees and wind, they hold their breath
All feigning ignorance
And no one will even remember it
If they are made to forgetChandelier lake is a mysterious place
And the ghost of the woman who sleeps beneath this waves
Chandelier lake is a mysterious place
And she's the only one who knows her grave

Tilly and the Wall are an indie rock group which formed in Omaha, Nebraska, United States in 2001. The band consits of Derek Pressnall (vocals, guitar), his wife Jamie Pressnall (tap dancer), Neely Jenkins (vocals, bass), Kianna Alarid (vocals, recorder, bass) and Nick White (keyboards). The band has gained notoriety for having a tap dancer provide percussion instead of a drummer (although drums and drum machines are occasionally used on some of their recordings, and Pressnall is usually complemented by Alarid and Jenkins stomping on the floor).
