Charlie Brown's Lament Lyrics

Having a think with man's best friend
I wear a sad sack and he a grin
It's hard to admit that unlike this mutt
I've been living the same mundane what's whatOne of us knows he has a soul
Often I wonder who it is
One of us loves and lives and obeys
That's just the way he isHe's not an upwardly mobile guy
Happier still most days than I
Where's all the John 10:10 in this
He's really got it licked I guess
And if the doctor is in
I'll state my case againOne of us knows he has a soul
Often I wonder who it is
One of us loves and lives and obeys
That's just the way he isAnd we beg at the tables of hungry men
And chew these same old bones again
Never speak, never speak to our dearest friend
Never speak, never speak to our dearest friendOne of us knows he has a soul

Often I wonder who it is
One of us loves and lives and obeys
That's just the way he isOne of us knows he has a soul
Often I wonder who it is
One of us loves and lives and obeys
That's just the way he is.
