Check Under the Bed Lyrics

You see my fear looks like laughter
That's why you never hear me scream
And I'm learning to rule in my simian shoes
Tradition has absorbed the sickest things
(I know my fear looks like laughter)And they're grabbing with paws
Somewhere I am not safe
In their animal's place
Claustrophobia maze
Ideology faked for a simian raceTrip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainWith my shoelace trip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainI know my fear looks like laughter
That's why you never see me scream
And I'm learning to rule in my simian shoes
Tradition has absorbed the sickest things

(I know my fear looks like laughter)And they're grabbing with paws
Somewhere I am not safe
In their animal's place
Claustrophobia maze
Ideology faked for a simian raceTrip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainWith my shoelace, trip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainIs our double, is our doubleTrip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainWith my shoelace, trip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainWith my shoelace, trip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domainWith my shoelace, trip me up
I become a nervous wreck
Put me in a padded cage
And I call it my domain

Mansun were formed in Chester in 1995 by vocalist/rhythm guitarist Paul Draper, lead guitarist/ backing vocalist Dominic Chad, bassist Stove King and drummer Andie Rathbone. Arriving on the Britpop-dominated scene as a beat-driven art rock band, Mansun liberally mixed progressive rock, psychedelia, art pop, shoegaze, 80's noir and electronic elements; instead of singles releasing numerous multi-format EPs bookended by concept albums, often changing their style (and peculiar uniforms) each release.
