Cheek to Cheek (1958 Stereo Version) Lyrics

Heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheekYes, heaven, I'm in heaven
And the cares that hung around me through the week
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheekOh I love to climb to mountain
And reach the highest peak
But it doesn't thrill me half as much
As dancing cheek to cheekOh I love to go out fishing
In a river or a creek
But I don't enjoy it half as much
As dancing cheek to cheekNow mama dance with me
I want my arms about you
That charm about you
Will carry me throughYes, heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek

When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek
Take it Ella swing itHeaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheekHeaven, I'm in heaven
And the cares that hung around me through the week
Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheekOh I love to climb a mountain
And reach the highest peak
But it doesn't thrill me half as much
As dancing cheek to cheekOh I love to go out fishing
In a river or a creek
But I don't enjoy it half as much
As dancing cheek to cheekCome on and dance with me
I want my arms about you
That charm about you
Will carry me throughTo heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheekDance with me
I want my arms about you
That charm about you
Will carry me throughTo heaven (heaven), I'm in heaven (I'm in heaven)
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek
Cheek to cheek
Cheek to cheek
Cheek to cheek

Ella Jane Fitzgerald (April 25, 1917 in Newport News, VA – June 15, 1996), also known as Lady Ella (the First Lady of Song), was one of the most influential jazz singers of the 20th Century, the winner of thirteen Grammy Awards, the National Medal of Art presented by President Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President George H. W. Bush. Gifted with a three-octave vocal range, she was noted for her purity of tone, near faultless phrasing and intonation, and a "horn-like" improvisational ability, particularly in her scat singing.
