Cherie Lyrics

Da da da duh duh
Da's and duh's
Oh cherieOh cherie
The city comes alive
It simmers in the night
It's wounded with desireOh cherie
We won't question the fire
Or watch the warm subside
For you a vintage ride
Oh cherie
Oh cherie
Oh cherie cherie
Don't you know that he can be a kiss or a killer?
Oh cherie
Oh cherie cherie
Don't you know the heart can be a fist or infinite?
Oh cherieDa da da duh duh
Da dad a duh duh

Da's and duhsOh cherieI am the tiger's eye
And you the youth that hides
And raptured of the wild
Oh cherie
And with the final flame
The wrath to shrinking blame
Your tutor feels the same
Oh cherie
Oh cherie cherie
Don't you know that he can be a kiss or a killer?
Oh cherie
Oh cherie cherie
Don't you know the heart can be a fist or infinite?
Oh cherie(Don't you know that he can be a kiss or killer?)
(Oh cherie)Oh cherie
Oh cherie
Oh cherie
Oh cherie
Oh cherie

The fourth of seven children, John Royce Mathis was born on September 30, 1935 in Gilmer, TX to Clem and Mildred Mathis. As a small boy, the family moved to Post Street in San Francisco. It was there that he learned an appreciation of music from his father who taught him his first song, “My Blue Heaven”. At age eight, his father purchased an old upright piano for $25. When he brought it home, it wouldn’t fit through the front door.
