Shweta Shetty, born in 1969 in Mumbai, is an Indi-pop singing star known both for her full-length albums and contributions to Bollywood film soundtracks. She currently lives in Hamburg with her husband Christian Brandt. Shetty was discovered at age 17, starting her career by taking modeling jobs and singing commercial jingles. Her father was not pleased with this career path and did not speak to her for years until after she married Brandt in 1997.
