Chicago Winds Lyrics

Chicago WindsI'd like to tell you how I truly feel
And hopefully it helps us all to heal
I know I've been considered absentee
But there's nothing I love more than being daddy
Do you believe me?
Hope you believe meThere were birthdays that I missed for sure
Schedules being on tour
Life spent in a bag its evident
From Philli to Califor-ni-a
Traveling from place to place
All around the world and back again, ohhhh
I'm blowing round just like Chicago windsI long to see your faces everyday
To watch the school recitals and your plays
Videos and pics well their okay
But it's not the same
Ohhhh it's not the same
It's hard to take
Am I too late? There were heart breaks that I could not cure

Wish that I could have been there more
Time costs so much less than money spent
I wish I wasn't so pressed for time
Cause I don't like to say goodbye
From this window seat I'm buckled in
I'm moving fast just like Chicago windsI hope one day you'll understand and see
Singing on stages this isn't just for me
I want for you to have a better life, better life
And it's my job to make that sacrifice, that sacrifice
So I take a bow and say goodnight
I pray my fans make it home alright
Cause after all, I do this for them too
I just wanna really let you know
You're on my mind and I love you so
I can hardly wait to see you all again
Come back on home Chicago winds

Dave Hollister, cousin of music act K-Ci and JoJo, started developing fame as a musician in the early 1990s. Some of his biggest early appearances were with 2Pac on tracks like "Brenda's Got A Baby."

His next big move was when he was signed to Teddy Riley's R&B group BLACKstreet in 1994. He worked with the group on their first album and then left the group to pursue his own solo career. He was signed to DreamWorks Records and began working on an album.

In 1999, Hollister released his first albumm, Ghetto Hymns. The album was successful, going gold, and creating one hit single, "My Favorite Girl." "My Favorite Girl" reached #10 on the R&B charts.

Hollister's follow-up album, Chicago '85... The Movie was released in 2000. The album was an autobiographical work and went gold. "One Woman Man" the album's biggest single, reached #8 on the R&B charts.

For his third effort, Hollister moved to Motown Records. He hoped the new label would instill new energy into his music. The album, Things In the Game Done Changed was released in 2002 and faired poorly on the charts and radio.

As a result of the album's shortcomings, Hollister returned to DreamWorks where he released Real Talk in 2003. Following the album's release, Hollister moved to Gospo Centric.

Hollister is reportedly wrapping up his fifth album in the industry, The Book of David: Vol. 1 The Transition. The album will be coming out on September 26, 2006 from Gospo Centric.
