Claim Me Lyrics

How many times will you deny this away
Until everything's changed
Until we're never the same?
You summoned something in the deepest of fears
Yeah, it was borrowed time
Clearly you never were mineA faith in someone that I don't understand
But I feel it, yeah I feel it breaking
You want me with no reality
So take it, just don't leave me hangingClaim me and blame me if you must
The drought of 2001
Do you remember our song?
Love me and save me from the rust
Would you return back to me if I would tell everything? You break my heart with every smile to me
Every whispered thought brings tomorrow's pain'
I'll be fine but not in this lifetime
Don't want apologies, just want your honestyWhen midnight strikes she turns fragile and pale
And I know it, that she's not forever
I'm broken down at the end of the road

Said she loves me but she's not enough toClaim me and blame me if you must
The drought of 2001
Do you remember our song?
Love me and save me from the rust
Would you return back to me if I would tell everything? And how the vision it bends
And then I just can't pretend not to love you
So claim me and blame me if you must
You are the only one now
Wish you would come back aroundI guess I'm not enough
How could you build me up?
And all these years of doubt
Yeah, you have worn me outClaim me and blame me if you must
The drought of 2001
Do you remember our song?
Love me and save me from the rust
Would you return back to me if I would tell everything? And how the vision it bends
And then I just can't pretend not to love you
So claim me and blame me if you must
You are the only one now
Wish you would come back aroundCould you save me, or just claim me? (whoa)
Could you save me, or just claim me? (whoa)

While it’s common practice in rock bios to liken an act to something familiar, it’s hard to do that with San Diego’s We Shot The Moon. That’s because it’s virtually impossible to compare them to any other band out there…not for more than a track or two, at least. We Shot The Moon--led by former Waking Ashland frontman Jonathan Jones--is a piano-heavy indie rock five-piece that formed in the year 2007. On September 29, the band releases its infectious sophomore LP, A Silver Lining, the follow-up to 2008’s Fear and Love, on Minneapolis-based label Afternoon Records.
