Close to You Lyrics

I just want to be close to youSunshine, moonlight, delight
Just a couple words describing who you are
Lovely, so lovely, want everyone to know
Why I'm in love with youPatient and strong, always
No matter what I face you've been there
To bring me through, just right on time
(Right on)
It took a while to see that your love was trueNow no one can
(Undo)
I belong
(To You)
Until the end
(Of time)
It's good to know
(Good to know You're mine)And all I want
(To say)
'Til my dying
(Dying day)

I just want to be close to youHonest and sweet
Heaven is where I want to be
Where I am, when I'm with you
Perfect, yes perfect
It's what you gave all the world to seeNow no one can
(Undo)
'Cause I belong
(To you)
Until the end
(Of time)
Good to know
(You're mine)And all I want
(All I want to do is say 'til my dying day)
I just want to be close to youCome on CeCe, follow me
It took a while to see now we know the truthNow no one can
(Undo)
I belong
(To You)
Until the end
(Of time)
Good to know
(Good to know you're mine)And all I want
(All I want to say 'til my dying day)
I just want to be close to youYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
How long will you stay?
I just wanna be close to You

Detroit-born brother and sister BeBe (Benjamin) and CeCe (Priscilla) Winans are part of the gospel-singing Winans family that also includes the Winans, their four brothers. As a duo, BeBe & CeCe maintain the gospel message, although their records have the production values and style of contemporary R&B. They released their debut album, BeBe & CeCe Winans, in 1987 and scored a moderate hit (number 49) on the R&B charts with the single "I.O.U. Me" scoring on the R&B and adult contemporary charts. This earned them three Grammy nominations and one award (gospel). Their second album, Heaven, came in 1988 and found them scoring three R&B hits with the title track, "Lost Without You," and "Celebrate Life." The album reached the R&B Top Ten (number 95 in the pop chart) and went gold. 1991's platinum-selling Different Lifestyles was their biggest hit yet, topping the R&B album chart and featuring the R&B number ones "Addictive Love" and "I'll Take You There."
