Closer Than I Appear Lyrics

Lock all the doors an' turn out the lights
Work this thing through till we get it right
But if I seem angry an' cold or I don't speak at all
It's just that old fear 'cause baby, I'm closer than I appearAn' here are the facts as much as I know
We've got to turn back if we can't let it go
You know your heart an' your mindAn' I'm just three steps behind but I feel those tears
'Cause baby, I'm closer than I appear
Yeah baby, I'm closer than I appear'Cause somewhere inside, I'm reachin' out for you
Somewhere inside, we both know the truth
But I learned lots of rules 'bout what a man's made of
An' I got to rethink what I know about loveHey, I'm willin' to change, if I still seem the same
Well, it's just them old fears an' baby, I'm closer than I appearIf I was born to stand here an' give you nothing but love
To fill up these years then baby, I'm closer than I appear
Yeah baby, I'm closer than I appearWell, come closer an' I'll come closer
Well, come closer, closer than I appear
