Closer Lyrics

(Ovh)
A little rain again today
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it
Right before my eyes
(Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it)But why talk about the weather?
And make it very lucky selling umbrellas
I've got my hard opinions
On how to treat a love like thisHe should've held her closer
When it was all he had to do
When it was all he had to prove
To all his closest friendsThat she was a bright and beaming light
A beacon in the night
I rest on a vision of the shoreline glistening
The two of us in love(Ah)
Then the sun went down tonight
I wouldn't have believed it if
I hadn't seen it right in front of meYou painted the sky in a violet scene
And I sat there in my car

Shedding the tears
That I could never have let you seeBeneath that ashen moonlit sky
I felt you right there with me
I know you're right here with meStep back, do it, fall in line and let it go
All you've got is the memoryShould've held her closer
When it was all he had to do
When it was all he had to prove
To all his closest friendsThat she was a bright and beaming light
A beacon in the night
I rest on a vision of the shoreline glistening,
The two of us in love(The sun goes down)When the sun goes down tonight
I set my eyes on a shorelineI'm gonna hold you closer
As if it's all I have to do
As if it's all I have to prove
To all my closest friendsThat she was a bright and beaming light
A beacon in the night
I rest on a vision of the two of us in love

A group plagued by major-label woes and break-ups, that was exactly what was essential for The Fold’s resilience: healing. Evolving from several Chicago-based rock outfits including Warner Brothers signees, Showoff, it seemed The Fold’s previous groups were in a place most musicians only dream of…and then things changed. “I suppose I gave up a lot when I left a major label band to start The Fold,” explains the band’s frontman and founder, Daniel Castady, “but if I did, it was because I knew that those things were passing away.”
