Closer to Mercury Lyrics

And I would've walked behind
And I would've walked beside you
And I would've told you every lie
And I would've done that for youOpen your eyes sometime
It's funny how I adore you
Gonna get every line just fine
I'll even sing it for you nowAnd there was a time I felt
The morning sun rose up for you
And I would've whispered in your ear
And I would make coffee for youAnd I would've crossed that line
And I could've drawn it for you
Tell me that everything is fine
And couldn't you do that for me nowBecause I'm a fan
From way back when you faltered
Waiting for your mail
If you can remember
I was standing there with youAnd wouldn't you say
That I've been an idiot for you

And I couldn't shake you if I tried
And I'd light a candle for youAnd somehow the time flies by
And I haven't done it for you
And I have a song to sing today
And I haven't done it for you nowBecause I'm your fan
From way back when you faltered
Waiting for your mail
If you can remember
I was standing there with youStanding there with you
Standing there with you
Standing there with youBecause I'm your fan
From way back when you faltered
Waiting for your mail
If you can remember
I was standing there withSummer love moves fast
You get a little slow and the fall moves past
But you'll never find another love like my loveWinter slows the pace
Spring brings the summer back to your face
But you'll never find another love like my loveSummer love moves fast
You get a little slow and the fall moves past
But you'll never find another love like my loveI'm getting along
Now, that I found salvation
Now, that I found salvation
Open your eyes, salvations nowI'm getting along
