Co-Star Lyrics

Alone in my room
I switch on the tube
And wave at the screen
It stares back at meSo I turn to the sky
And watch as it cries
Just waiting in here
For the car to appearCause when we're together the world smiles
And when we're together it feels right
We'll live for the future and its scenes
When we're together, my co-star and meYour plane is delayed
So I walk from the gate
But when you appear
I'll stick to you dearAnd we'll stumble outside
And dance in the sunlight
Like ice in the sun
We'll melt into oneYes when we're together the world smiles
And when we're together it feels right
We'll live for the future and its scenes

When we're together, my co-star and meWhen we're together the planets align
When we're together I burn from the inside
We'll live for forever in this insanity
When we're together, my co-star and meWhen we're together the world smiles
And when we're together it feels right
We'll live for the future and its scenes
When we're together, my co-star and meWhen we're together the planets align
And when we're together the stars gonna shine
We'll live for forever in this insanity
When we're together, my co-star and me

Many have wondered how two performers as volatile as Bernard Butler and Brett Anderson who had at one time nurtured such hatred for one another, were reunited after all this time. Anderson describes getting together with former bandmate Butler as such, "We went out for a drunken night. I'd called him and we went out for a curry and got drunk. Then the next day he came over with these tracks and that was that".
