Cold Part Of Town Lyrics

Dear darling
Haven't seen you in a while
Found some change in my pocket
I thought I'd take a chance and dialI'm all right
Just right now, a little down
'Cause it gets chilly over here
And it's a cold part of townDear darling
You were right about them all
When my luck went bad
They never came around or calledThat's all right
'Cause I don't miss them anyhow
But it gets chilly over here, sometimes
It's a cold part of townCold part of town
Cold part of townI'll go now
There's someone waiting for the phone
It's raining out
It's getting dark and I'm aloneCan I call you?
And can I sometime come around?

Well, it gets chilly over here sometimes
It's a cold part of townAnd it gets lonely over here sometimes
Cold part of town
And it gets lonely over hereCold part of town
Cold part of townCold part of town
Cold part of town
Cold part of town

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.
