Come Around and See Me Lyrics

Here I am, a sort of prisoner, my body is the cell
And, perhaps you are the cell key
I have all day long to sit here and all day is a long time
But my legs don't want to move me nowPlease, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you come around and see meThe game shows in the mornings do their best to entertain
And the news does it's to worry me, I don't know why I watch it
But I like the way the TV fills the room with human voice
And sometimes it is amusing, sometimesPlease, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you come around and see me, see mePlease, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you come around and see me
Why don't you come around?
Why don't you come around? In the middle of the afternoon
I'm sure it's much too quiet
Then again, maybe there is noise
And I just can't hear itPlease, all I ask is that you come around
Please, all I ask is that you

Please, all I ask is that you come around and see me, see mePlease, just half an hour inside the twenty-four
Please, just one half an hour
Please, all I ask is that you come around
Why don't you come around and see me?
Come around and see meDo you think I won't know you?
Well, I'm not senile yet
You talk about putting people in small boxes
You know how that isDo you? Do you? Do you?
Do you? Do you? Do you?
Do you? Do you? Do you?Oh, when you're my age, you're in my place
You'll understand, understand, understand, I know you will

The Innocence Mission are a folk band featuring the beautiful, mesmerizing vocals of Karen Peris, and the guitar backing of her husband, Don Peris. Their signature style is dreamy slow songs, with beautiful melodies. The original band, including Mike Bitts (bass), and Steve Brown (drums), was formed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the early 80s when the members met during a Catholic school production of Godspell. Although all members of the band have contributed musically, Karen Peris does most of the group's writing.
