In the gentle morning
The smell of french cocoa
On an autumnal day
I woke up
A bit earlier than usualI chose a hat
(inside)in front of the looking glass
Today I have a date
With youThe path that
Leads to the forest
Is full of fallen
Leaves
It reminded me
Of the first time
We kissed
And my heart throbbedI rush up the
Lane
That smells
Like flowersAnd the wind
Sounds faintly
Like a mysterious harp
You whisper sweet
Words to me
And kiss me againAt this time
You're bound to hear
Some music
Coming from somewhere
And so
We are both
Bound to swear love
To each other (forever)When I was a child
And felt like
Crying I would
Walk alone in
The forestI still remember
This sometimes
But I don't
Cry anymoreWhen you hear
The wind whispering
When you
Kiss
Suddenly the magic
Of a distant summer
Is here again
With you

Pizzicato Five (often nicknamed "P5") is a legendary Japanese group that formed in 1984. Arguably the first group to popularize shibuya-kei from underground circles, they also later on began experimenting with the style, with what some called an innovative genre all their own, blending traditional Japanese pop, alternative, soul, funk, jazz, ye-ye, acoustic folk, and early electronic music, among others. They are also perhaps best known to audiences in the west in their later incarnation as a duo of Nomiya Maki (野宮真貴) and Konishi Yasuharu (小西康陽).
