Controlled By Hatred Lyrics

I see the world, it slips so far away
Looking back on yesterday
Leaves me nothing more to sayTerror reigns my world, Lord please tell me why
I'm on my knees, I start to cry
I live my life, that's another lie, controlled by hatredIt feels good, I'm not proud to say
But I'll just put off my guilt
It can wait another fuckin' dayI search you out and now you're right within my reach
And now you'll learn a lesson only I can teach
Now I'm checking in, now I'm checking outNow I start to scream, it's what it's all about, shout it out
Can you see what it's all about, shout it out
Now you know what I'm all aboutSo you can chalk up another soul that's lost
Calculate the social cost
You know not what's inside of me, raging mad insanityScrambled brains, I got a toasted mind
Look in my heart therein no goodness are you gonna find
I turned my back to all responsibility
I got no place for all your sensitivityNow I'm checking out, now I'm checking in, now I start to pray
Just another fuckin' sin, why can't I ever win?
Seems like I never win, it's a sin after sin after sin

Why can't I ever win?Who am I?
I feel no painI close my ears and now I see so clear
I slip away, just left all fear
Not a sound, but still I hear, controlled by hatredAnd now the world, it slips so far away
Looking back on yesterday
Leave me nothing more to say, controlled by hatredI didn't think that I could ever try
Now, tears of joy I start to cry
I free my soul and now I fly, controlled by hatredThe Hooterman goes
"What's your name?", he goes
"What's your name?", he goes
"What's your name?", he goes"You know my name, you know my name!"
What's your name? My name is terror!
What's your name? My name is pain!
What's your name? And you're my reason
I'm controlled by hate, controlled, controlled by hate, my hateIt's gonna gotta gonna gotta gonna gotta get better
It's gonna gotta gonna gotta gonna gotta get better
It's gonna gotta gonna gotta gonna gotta get better
Now the world, my whole world's controlled by hatred
The world, my whole world's controlled by hatredWho am I?
I feel no pain
Could it be?
I've gone insane, controlled by hatred

Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1982 in Venice, California. Sometimes regarded as the progenitors of skate punk, they later incorporated significant heavy metal and thrash elements. The group, led by Mike Muir ("Cyco Miko"), had a rough start that included being voted "Worst Band/Biggest Assholes" in Flipside in 1982. Using the opposition to fuel creativity, they quickly gained a following, performing larger and larger gigs. As the size grew, so did the rumors of gang relations and violence (eventually leading to a Los Angeles ban on public performances by Suicidal Tendencies). The band signed with the indie label Frontier Records and issued their classic self-titled debut in 1983. The album was the best-selling hardcore album up to that point. It included many memorable songs. The video for Institutionalized was one of the first hardcore punk videos to receive substantial airplay on MTV. It was also used in the Emilio Estevez cult classic movie Repo Man and an episode for the hit TV show Miami Vice (which included a cameo appearance by the group). Recently the track has been used in the blockbuster movie Iron Man. Their song Possessed to Skate solidified their status as a premier skate punk band. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow has become one of the band's most acclaimed songs. After lineup changes and side projects, including the Infectious Grooves, they have continued to release albums and (as of 2004) are working on a new album and a Live-DVD to be titled "Return to Venice."
Former Bass player Robert Trujillo currently plays for Metallica and former guitar player Rocky George joined Fishbone.
