Conversation with a Photograph Lyrics
Where's the sense in keeping things locked away from you?
You always know where everything should be
The hidden jar of whiskey is my one remaining secret
Along with all the betting slips you never get to see
They're only simple pleasures for the lonely summer evenings
Money's not important though I guess it used to be
It really isn't sensible to worry on excessively
Life is short so let's not disagree
Christmas seems to burden me with worries you'll know well
The list of things to do's too big for me
The telephone will ring and I will speak with all the children
Sometimes neighbours wander in and invite me round for tea
They're only being thoughtful but they're not my kind of people
They keep a load of animals, which always make me sneeze
I know that you would tell me to have them here for dinner
But life is short so let's not disagree
No we never disagree
