Conversations - American Primitive

American Primitive is a tight, foot stompin' quartet, composed of the hottest young pickers in California. Whether it is straight bluegrass, jazz, or their original tunes, American Primitive is a unique group of young musicians who will leave you wanting more. Zack Smith (Bass), a graduate of the Ethnomusicology program at UCLA, adds new world rhythm to the genre and a certain Mingus-esque power. Paul Fuller (Banjo/Resonator Guitar), a graduate of the music school at CalArts, and former Topanga Banjo Contest winner, brings original compositions and fresh playing on his instrument of choice.
