Cotton Fields Lyrics

[ Don Rich ]
When I was a little bitty baby my mama would rock me in my cradle
In those old cottonfields back home
When I was a little bitty baby my mama would rock me in my cradle
In those old cottonfields back home
Oh when those cotton bolls get rotten you can't pick very much cotton
In those old cottonfields back home
It was down in Louisiana just about a mile from Texarkana
In those old cottonfields back home
[ steel ]
When I was a little bitty baby...
In those old cottonfields back home

Alvis Edgar Owens, Jr. (August 12, 1929 – March 25, 2006), better known as Buck Owens, was an American singer and guitarist who had 21 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country music charts with his band, the Buckaroos. They pioneered what came to be called the Bakersfield sound—a reference to Bakersfield, California, the city Owens called home and from which he drew inspiration for what he preferred to call American music.
