Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda Lyrics

[intro]
See
Niggas think this love stuff is easy
Heh, it's not the caseFallin' in love is so easy
But stayin' that way is so hard
All she wanted was security
A man with a job and a car, baby
You'd think I oughtta be happy
On a hill with a view of the stars
But as soon as I had to go out of town for a week
I went to the next woman's arms1 - if I coulda seen it, inside her
Woulda seen her broken heart
I woulda held on, tighter
Then we wouldn't be falling apart
I shoulda said I love her
A thousand times a day
Then I wouldn't be sittin' here
Coulda, woulda, shoulda

My whole damn life awayNever had a good reason
For treating my lady that way
She cussed me out and left me standing there
And went to her girlfriend's to stay, baby
Now I spend all my lonely nights
Mentally tryin' to explain
Why she told me she never wanted to see me again
A year ago todayRepeat 1In the morning, you know I coulda came back
Just before work and fooled around in the sackIn the afternoon, it woulda been so cool
Surprise you with ice, and set a date for next juneIn the evening, shoulda loved you right
And let my niggas know I'm stayin' home tonightI coulda, I woulda, I shoulda but now you're gone
But now you're goneRepeat 1Coulda, woulda
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I love you babyCan I sing to ya baby?
Can I sing to ya?Can I sing to ya baby?
Can I sing to ya?Repeat 1

Montell Du'Sean Jordan (born December 3, 1968 in Los Angeles, California) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, and record producer. Jordan was the first R&B artist signed to the Def Jam label, and became the main male artist on its Def Soul imprint until leaving the label in 2003.

Jordan attended Pepperdine University in California to pick up a bachelor's degree in communications, graduating summa cum laude and was a state finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship.

Jordan's first single was the 1995 #1 hit single "This Is How We Do It", and defined his hip hop soul musical style. "This Is How We Do It" and its follow-up, "Somethin' 4 Da Honeyz", show a strong hip hop influence, and Jordan's material fit alongside the rest of Def Jam's output. Future hits would include "Let's Ride" with Master P in 1998 and "Get It on Tonite" in late-1999.

Besides crafting his own material, Jordan has written and produced for a number of outside artists, including Christina Milian, 98 Degrees, Deborah Cox ("Nobody's Supposed to Be Here", 1998), and Sisqó (the number-one hit "Incomplete", 2000). The singer has had cameo roles in the films "The Fighting Temptations" and "The Nutty Professor."

Jordan left Def Soul in 2003 and released the album "Life After Def" on Koch Records.

Jordan released his 7th project - "Let It Rain" - on October 21, 2008.

In 2010, Jordan left the music business to become a minister. As he explained on his Twitter feed, the decision is "a calling that’s probably been with me all my life since I was a child. And I’ve known it. A lot of people in the business know it and have the same calling but that leap of faith is difficult."
