Country of Man Lyrics

I started out in 1954,
"What the hell was it all for?"
He asked himself why-
"What the hell an I gonna do now,
drink gin all night or fight?"
He says this, he says that-
why should I believe any of it?I'm living in the country of man.
I seen 'em lying down on their hands
I'm living in the country of man.
I seen 'em lying, dying instead.Later on in 1955
Charlie was working the Roosevelt, so was I.
"What the hell am I gonna do now,
raise these kids or leave the wife?"
He says this, he says that-
why should I believe any of it?I'm living in the country of man.
I seen 'em lying down on their hands
I'm living in the country of man.
I seen 'em lying, dying instead.Buh, buh, buh, buh, Buh, buh, buh,

buh, buh,Buh, buhAnd the president says,
"Buh, buh, buh, buh, Buh, buh,
buh, buh, buh, Buh, buh"The premier replies:
"Buh, buh, buh, buh,Buh, buh,
buh, buh buh, Buh, buh"Then the papers say,
"Buh, buh, buh, buh,Buh, buh,
buh, buh buh, Buh, buh....
