County Line Lyrics

On my way to you, old county
hoping nothing's changed
that your pain is never-ending
that is, it's still the same
county line.
County line, county lineI left so far behind
You never even *tried* to love me
woah woah woah woah woah
what did I have to do to make you want me?
woah woah woah woah woah
I feel so blind I can't make out the passing road signs
woah woah woah woah woah
all that you would have me do is cross that county line
woah woah woah woah woah
County line. Now you know I'm coming, old county
to see construction sites
and your new home's never ending
I think I can see the lights

county line, county line, county line.
I can smell the columbineYou never even *tried* to love me
woah woah woah woah woah
what did I have to do to make you want me?
woah woah woah woah woah
I feel so blind I can't make out the passing road signs
woah woah woah woah woah
all that you would have me do is cross that county line
woah woah woah woah woah
County line, woah woah woah woah woah.
County line, woah woah woah woah woah.
County line, woah woah woah woah woah.
County line, woah woah woah woah woah.

Cass McCombs (born in Concord, California in 1977) is an American singer-songwriter and performer. An enigmatic folk nomad, McCombs is a quintessentially American artist; "he's quietly become one of (the country's) finest chroniclers of fringe characters, a writer of heart-rending love songs and psychedelic odes to the natural world, a teller of tall-tales with a sense of humor dry as desert wood, and that rare folksinger who actually sings about the folk.
