Crazy Lyrics

Saw you early this morning
Sleeping all dressed in white
For a moment I thought you were an angel
Come to take me home aliveYou woke up and you caught me staring
Smiled and said, "Fool cut it out"
You said that I must be crazy, I said, "Crazy about you"
And I kissed you on the mouthIf I am truly crazy
Don't you know I like my life that way?
And if I'm really going on out of my mind
Won't you hop on board, make your getawayTook a walk down by the seashore
Saw a poor man picking up some cans
Saw a little boy, who had some salt water in his eyes
Reaching out for his mama's handsThen I watched a stranger give that man a dollar
Watched a mama wipin' tears from her little boy's eyes
Then I stared up into the heavens, said, "Oh my God
I'm glad that I'm alive, so glad that I'm alive"And if I am truly crazy
Don't you know I like my life that way, that way? No, no
And if I'm really going on out of my mind

Won't you hop on board and make your getawayWake up in the morning we turn all the lights on
Turn 'em out at night so that we can hide
Sometimes I sleep with all the lights on
It helps me to appreciate the nightI hear people talk about life all the time
And all they remember are times so sad
Don't you think that life would be awfully boring
If the good times were all that we hadIf I am truly crazy
Don't you know I like my life that way?
And if I'm really going on out of my mind
Won't you hop on board, make your getawayIf I am truly crazy
Don't you know I like my life that way, that way? No, no, no, no
If I'm really going on out of my mind
Won't you hop on board, make your getaway
Hop on board, make your getaway

Pat Green was born in San Antonio and raised in Waco, Texas, the eighth of nine siblings. His father was a stage actor, and Green fell in love with the musicals his father acted in. Green began his musical career when he was 18 and in college at Texas Tech in Lubbock. "I started playing guitar to pick up the chicks," Green laughs. "Before that, I only sang in the shower. I could mimic other people's voices. It took me a long time to find my own voice, but once I did, I became very comfortable with it. It's not real pretty but it's believable."
