Crickets (feat. Jerrod Niemann) Lyrics

Hey pretty girl let's met and take a ride
Chase the moonlight up to the country side
See heaven is about four turns away
The sun is so sleepy, stars on their way
Let's tailgate talk get lost in time
Farm hard walk, your hand in mine
Blood was right here, begging us to jump
Let's shut the world off and do what we wantOut here at the end of a dirt road,
Out here where the cool grass grows
The night sky is bright as it gets
Out here we can lay our blanket down
And know there ain't no one else around
Except for you and me and the cricketsThis song is ready for work, my head is still spinning
And your good morning smile got this ol' boy grinning
Looking at my love, knowin' one you're all mine
Feeling your heart beat through the whispering pines
Lost in each other, lost from the world
Found this true love, found is my girl

Thank God for this,
Thank God for you
Thank God for dirt roads and where they led us tooOut here at the end of a dirt road,
Out here where the cool grass grows
The night sky is bright as it gets
Out here we can lay our blanket down
And know there ain't no one else around
Except for you and me and the cricketsWe got our own place, where our souls are free
Only communication is you loving on me
First step: kiss
Second: who knows
Last step's forever, we found where love growsOut here at the end of a dirt road,
Out here where the cool grass grows
The night sky is bright as it gets
Out here we can lay our blanket down
And know there ain't no one else around
Except for you and me and the cricketsOut here at the end of a dirt road,
Out here where the cool grass grows
The night sky is bright as it gets
Out here we can lay our blanket down
And know there ain't no one else around
Except for you and me and the cricketsOh crickets

Take Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr and Toby Keith, mix with a little "Dirty South" rap influence, and what you get is Colt Ford, former golf pro-turned-country music's first legitimate rap star. His debut album, "Ride Through The Country", came out in 2008, featuring some of his friends and influences, from country stars Jamey Johnson and John Michael Montgomery to rapper Bonecrusher and RnB artist Attitude. "Chicken and Biscuits", featuring appearances by Josh Gracin, James Otto and Daryl "DMC" McDaniels came next in April 2010. A third album, featuring new single "Country Thang", was released in 2011. Mixing southern rock, country and rap together, his music is a testament to the up-til-now crazy notion that rap and country don't mix, won't mix, and can't mix. Colt is touring the United States on his sold-out "Declaration of Independence" tour while readying for the June 2012 release of his latest cd, "Declaration of Independence", which will feature performances alongside such musical heavyweights as Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean and Boys II Men.
