Cry On My Shoulder Lyrics

You could cry on my shoulder,
I know its hard when them nigts grow cold, stressed out, need somebody to hold you,
You can cry on my shoulder
Heart ache only gunna bring us closer
Its a war outside ill be your soldier
You can cry on my shoulder
When the world start to turn you away,
I got a place & you welcome to stay
You can cry on my shoulder
Dont be ashamed theres nothing wrong with yu cryin,
Dont worry bout it everythang will be fine
You can cry on my shoulder.
13 years old & the daddy was fuckin her
Only time she feel love when somebody was fuckin her
And now im stuck with her
Gotta build trust with her
Somebody call the governer or maybe the coroner
She out there on the ave sellin ass on the corner

She need to go to church n get the lord in the corner
She said he ignore her,
He never respond
I said you gotta communicate & that creates a bond
I keep open arms baby,
You're never alone
I know its hard out here,
By yourself on your own
Take your time babygirl dont you rush to be grown
As long as im around you got a place called home
You can cry on my shoulder
I know its hard when them nigts grow cold, stressed out, need somebody to hold you,
You can cry on my shoulder
Heart ache only gunna bring us closer
Its a war outside ill be your soldier
You can cry on my shoulder
When the world start to turn you away,
I got a place & you welcome to stay
You can cry on my shoulder
Dont be ashamed theres nothing wrong with yu cryin,
Dont worry bout it everythang will be fine
You can cry on my shoulder.
I know the world can be a hard place to live in,
Especially with the racism & the killins,
Drug dealins
And corrupt polliticts
That reality pill, its hard to swallow it
Ive acknowledged this
Harder on the good women
Cuhs half the niggas gay the others in prison
And the very few good ones dog you out
And the others with a white bitch ballin out
It comes together na
I see why you so pissed off
The only time you get attention when ya panties off
But you's a blessin bae
I need you to understand
God created you as a gift to a man
So you could cry on my shoulder,
I know its hard when them nigts grow cold, stressed out, need somebody to hold you,
You can cry on my shoulder
Heart ache only gunna bring us closer
Its a war outside ill be your soldier
You can cry on my shoulder
When the world start to turn you away,
I got a place & you welcome to stay
You can cry on my shoulder
Dont be ashamed theres nothing wrong with yu cryin,
Dont worry bout it everythang will be fine
You can cry on my shoulder.
I was rasied in a single parent house
See my momma was my daddy and the needle of the family
I know about tradgety and heartache I promise
Niggas shootin at eachother,
Nothin new im bein honest
A funeral like every week
Familiar with the service
Too familiar with the deservin?
Somebody call a surgeon
I got a whole in my heart,
I hope im livin for a purpose
You hear about the pain but im seein it in person
I need some reassurament
I feel like we experiments
Put us on Section 8 like a form of endurenment
We have to build pyramids,
With unity & trust
Penatrate an oppurtinty the rest is up to us.
You could cry on my shoulder,
I know its hard when them nigts grow cold, stressed out, need somebody to hold you,
You can cry on my shoulder
Heart ache only gunna bring us closer
Its a war outside ill be your soldier
You can cry on my shoulder
When the world start to turn you away,
I got a place & you welcome to stay
You can cry on my shoulder
Dont be ashamed theres nothing wrong with yu cryin,
Dont worry bout it everythang will be fine
You can cry on my shoulder.

Doves are an alternative rock band from Manchester, United Kingdom consisting of Jimi Goodwin (vocals, bass) and twin brothers Jez Williams (guitar) and Andy Williams (drums). They are joined on stage by Martin Rebelski (keys). They are known for their large, epic sound, which combines dovetailing guitar lines with driving percussion and a penchant for atmospherics. Unusually, both Williams brothers have also contributed lead vocals.

Originally formed in 1988 as Sub Sub, a dance act who coincided with the rise of the Hacienda and the rave scene from Manchester expanding outwards, they enjoyed moderate success for seven years including the hit single "Ain't No Love (Ain't No Use)" (#3 UK), before suffering the disaster of their studio burning down in 1996, taking all their current recordings with them. The experience, tragedy and pressure of that would inspire their name-change, in 1998, to Doves, and ultimately their first full-length album, Lost Souls released in April 2000. "Lost Souls" was a dark, atmospheric effort, full of brooding keyboards and claustrophobic light grooves, yet charted at number 13, mainly due to the top 40 singles, "The Cedar Room", "Catch The Sun" and "The Man Who Told Everything".

Two years later, Doves enjoyed their commercial and critical peak with their second album, The Last Broadcast, which charted at number 1 in the UK charts, spawning a hit single, "There Goes The Fear", which reached number 3 in the chart. "The Last Broadcast" was characterised by huge, spacious recordings, and an overall feeling of euphoria and relief. Two more singles, "Pounding" and "Caught By The River" both charted inside the top 40, and in the summer of 2003, Doves headlined the Other Stage on the last night of the Glastonbury Festival.

Recording problems and writers' block delayed the emergence of their third album, Some Cities, until Spring 2005. This was a return to the more claustrophobic sounds of their debut, though still featured the top 10 single "Black & White Town". "Some Cities" sold well, debuting at #1 on the UK chart, and received some of the band's strongest reviews to date.

Jimi Goodwin and Jez Williams both contributed to other bands in the late 90's, Goodwin played bass for Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr's band Electronic on their 1999 album Twisted Tenderness and Williams played guitar on Saint Etienne's albums, 1998's Good Humor, 2000's Sound Of Water and finally 2002's Finisterre.

2009 saw the release of 'Kingdom of Rust' and a tour to support, soon followed by 'The Places Between', a greatest hits album - also released as a double album with DVD compilation of singles, non-single releases and remixes.
