Daddy, I Love You Lyrics

The younger kids are sleeping
Mama's working nights
You are heavy on my mind
So I just thought I'd writeMoney's hard to come by
Outside of that we're fine
Little brother talks about you
Almost all the timeEvery night I say a little prayer
That he'll keep watching over you
I know you think that no one cares
But daddy, I love youI've never once heard mama say
Who was right or wrong
I just came home from school one day
And she told me you were goneYou may not want to come back home
And if you never do
Daddy, it won't change the way I feel
I'll always love youEvery night I say a little prayer
That he'll keep watching over you
I know you think that no one cares

But daddy, I love youEvery night I say a little prayer
That he'll keep watching over you
I know you think that no one cares
But daddy, I love you

Billie Jo Spears (born January 14, 1937 in Beaumont, Texas as Billie Jean Spears, died December 14, 2011 in VIdor, Texas) was a country music singer who was particularly popular in the 1970s. Spears moved from Texas to Nashville in 1964. She earned a Capitol Records contract in 1968. Her first hit was 1969's "Mr. Walker, It's All Over." Spears won country fans over with her tough, bluesy style; however, it was not until 1975's "Blanket on the Ground" that she broke through to major stardom. The song hit number one on the country charts in the United States.
