Daddy’s Girl Lyrics

I recall the night that you came into this world,
I couldn't believe the doctor when he said it's a little girl,
I said now doc you must be wrong you see I want a boy
but then he layed you in my arms my heart sang with joy(chorus)
Daddy's girl, Daddy's Girl
I'm the center of daddy's world
I know I'm daddy's number 1 for he loves me like I was his son
Daddy's girlI recall the day I took you to a baseball game,
You brought along your babydoll and half its baby things,
We sat there a playing house while the Dodgers played the Braves
and everyone in the bleachers looked at us as if to say(chorus)
Daddy's girl, Daddy's girl
I'm the center of daddy's world
I know I'm daddy's number 1 for he loves me like I was his son
Daddy's girlI recall the day I took you on a fishin' trip,
You said daddy won't that hook hurt the fishy's lip
and you said if they don't get air those things in the can will die
So we turned the worms a loose and chased some butterflys(chorus)

Daddy's girl, Daddy's girl
I'm the center of daddy's world
I know I'm daddy's number 1 for he loves me like I was his son
Daddy's girlI recall the day that your young man come to call
Seems like only yesterday we swam and played football
But I know the time has come that I must set you free but no matter
where you are you know what you are to me(chorus)
Daddy's girl,Daddy's girl
I'm the center of daddy's world
I know I'm daddy's number 1 for he loves me like I was his son
Daddy'd girlDaddy's girl
Daddy's girl

Woodrow Wilson "Red" Sovine (July 17, 1918 — April 4, 1980) was a country music singer. He was associated with truck driving songs, particularly those recited as narratives, but set to music. The most famous example of this is his 1976 number one hit "Teddy Bear". Born in 1918 in Charleston, West Virginia, he was taught how to play guitar by his mother. His first venture into music was with his childhood friend Johnnie Bailes, with whom he performed as "Smiley and Red, the Singing Sailors" in the country music revue Jim Pike's Carolina Tar Heels on WWVA in Wheeling, West Virginia.
