Daly City Train Lyrics

He was an artist and a writer
And a poet and a friend
In a man's life he will take a fall
But how low he goes it just dependsYeah, he's shooting dope in the men's room
At the station Daly City Train
Have you ever seen an angel, well I know I have
Say they'll stay here for a while and they'll fly awayJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice
Never thought twice about beingJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice
Never thought twice about beingSome grown up and some grow old
But what about the kid who never learned the rules
Spent all these years on this earth
When you look back it's just a flicker of timeJackyl was one of the one's that perished
Yeah, he was one of the one's that was already saved
Through all this evil and wreckage, yeah
He maintained a sense of himself, yeahJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice

Never thought twice about beingJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice
Never thought twice about beingTake it
Some men are in prison even though
They walk the streets at night
Other men who got the lock down
Are free as a bird in flightHow about the hour
In the system that ended
In a one-way line
Our measures could not stand itJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice
Never thought twice about being himJackyl had a beer in his hand last time I'd seen him
But when he rolled the dice he know he never thought twice
Never thought twice about being him

Rancid is a punk rock band which formed in Berkeley, California, United States in 1991. The band consists of Tim "Lint" Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Lars Frederiksen (guitar), Matt Freeman (bass) and Brendan Stieneckert (drums). The band has released seven albums: "Rancid" (1993), "Let's Go" (1994), "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), "Life Won't Wait" (1998), "Rancid" (2000), "Indestructible" (2003) and "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009). The band originally consisted of Armstrong, Freeman (both former members of Operation Ivy) and drummer Brett Reed, with Frederiksen joining in 1993. Reed left in 2006 and was replaced by Stieneckert.

To date, Rancid has released seven studio albums, one split album, one compilation, two extended plays, and a series of live online-only albums, and has been featured on a number of compilation albums. The band has independently sold over four million records worldwide,[4] making it one of the most successful independent punk groups of all time. The band rose to fame in 1994 with its second studio album, Let's Go, featuring the single "Salvation". In the following year, Rancid released its highly successful album ...And Out Come the Wolves, which produced its best-known songs "Roots Radicals", "Ruby Soho" and "Time Bomb", and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA, selling over one million copies in the United States alone. Its next four albums, Life Won't Wait, Rancid, Indestructible and Let the Dominoes Fall, were also critically acclaimed, though not as successful as ...And Out Come the Wolves. Rancid is currently working on an eighth studio album, which is said to be recorded in September 2011, and expected to be released in 2012.
