Dancin' Party Lyrics

Everybody say, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Are you ready? Yeah
Let's have a ball at the hall tonight
Boot it girl till the early bright
Make a scene with the record machine
At the dancin' party tonight
Come on, let's fry mashed potatoes too
Watusi girl is the dance to do
Twist and shout till we knock ourselves out
At the dancin' party tonight
'Cause summer time is party time
And every thing's alright
'Cause everyone is feelin' fine
And every night is Saturday night, yeah
Mess around, Bristol stompin' too
Pony now like it's all brand new

Any dance that you wanna do
At the dancin' party tonight
Yeah, let's go, let's go now, come on
Come on, let's fry mashed potatoes too
Watusi girl is the dance to do
Twist and shout till we knock ourselves out
At the dancin' party tonight
'Cause summer time is party time
And every thing's alright
'Cause everyone is feelin' fine
And every night is Saturday night
Yeah, bake me a cake, let's shake them shakes
Jump and stomp till the ceiling breaks
Have no fear 'cause the gang's all here
At the twistin' party tonight
Is [Incomprehensible] here? Yeah
Is Dee Dee here? Yeah
Are the Orlons here? Yeah
And the Drake Brothers? Yeah
Ah, get yourselves down, go ahead
Ah, let's go now, come on, yeah

Chubby Checker is the stage name of Ernest Evans (born 3 October 1941), an American singer-songwriter best known for popularizing the dance The Twist with his 1960 song "The Twist". In September 2008, "The Twist" topped Billboard's list of the most popular singles to have appeared in the Hot 100 since its debut in 1958.

He was born in Spring Gulley, SC, USA, and raised in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended South Philadelphia High School with Frankie Avalon and Fabian. The wife of American Bandstand's host Dick Clark suggested the name "Chubby Checker" to Evans as a take-off on then-popular singer Fats Domino. In 1964, he married Catharina Lodders, a Dutch girl who had been Miss World in 1962.

His material during his 1960s heyday was recorded for Cameo-Parkway Records and along with the label's other material, became unavailable after the early 1970s because of the company's internal legal disputes. For decades, almost all compilations of Checker's hits consisted of re-recordings.
